Hi, my name’s Ste Stanley, Uplift Planning’s CEO, built environment expert and a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Since 2011 my specialist area has been Town Planning and Urban Regeneration.
To say I love my work would be an understatement. In fact, my comfort in fast-paced and complex environments has led to an exciting and varied career, with many high-level, executive roles. These have included an interim CEO stint for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture here on the Isle of Man. More recently, I’ve enjoyed the position of Executive Director of Urban Regeneration for the Cabinet Office. Projects here have included guiding and coordinating the development of lower Douglas brownfield sites.

Through my work I’ve delivered on complex, multi-million-pound projects, risk-managed, people developed and led diverse teams and large departments, occasionally under tough conditions. For example, as the Covid Response Team’s Executive Director.
In addition to all the above, I’m passionate about personal progress and hold an ILM Level 7 qualification in Executive Coaching, which is where Uplift Planning comes in…
As well as Uplift Planning, I’ve therefore a sister company, Uplift Executive Coaching. This enterprise has the unwavering aim of enabling people to Do More, Achieve More and Be More.
Uplift Planning runs in tandem, which is important.
This is because planning or planning problems can be complex and time-consuming. In fact, throughout my career I’ve often felt frustrated when people take wrong turns with planning and I’ve always thought the same thing: ‘I wish they’d gotten professional planning advice!’ Because if not approached correctly, planning can also be messy, costly and even land you in court.
